Spiritual Growth

With so much happening around the world, and sometimes even in our neighborhood, events begin to take a toll on our spiritual well-being--confusion, anger, frustration, sorrow, etc.  Where do we turn and to whom can we turn?  Prayer and reflection strengthens the soul as God is ever present.

"Dominic spent much of his life walking from place to place in Europe. His frequent journeys were walking tours with God, the ever-present and faithful companion wihout whom no journey could succeed. God travels with us on every journey we make, whether it be from place to place or from moment to moment.  After all, from a Christian perspective, life is a pilgramage with God.  The same God who walked with Dominic walks with us this day.

Dominic's journey turned into prayer because he acknowledged the presence of his Divine Companion.  Dominic thanked his companion and asked for his Friend's advice and direction."

--Michael Monshau, "Praying with Dominic", p.61
